Volunteer Program Updates

The volunteer process has been modified while still prioritizing the safety and security of our students, staff and community. Updates include:

  • Elimination of the FCPS Volunteer Center.
  • New registration form via Formstack.
  • New process for multisite applications.

Family and community members should be directed to the FCPS Volunteer Webpage to follow the new onboarding process. Please note, this is an annual process and must be completed every school year. To avoid delays, volunteer applicants should only apply once and can be added to multiple schools AFTER initial building approval.

School-based Staff action steps include:

  1. School principals remain responsible for approving volunteer applications in Raptor. However, other school-based staff may be assigned as designees for the role at the discretion of the principal. To do so, an email must be sent from the principal to [email protected] to fulfill the request. For instructions on how to approve applications in Raptor, please click here
  2. Volunteer coordinators should register for their mandatory annual training. Raptor approvers or designees are also welcome to join. These training sessions will be 45 minutes and will be held virtually. Staff can register for training here
  3. A school communication template is available here to share the message with families and communities; systemic messaging will be shared soon as well.
  4. A QR code flier is available for you to display should you so wish.
  5. Schools should plan on offering additional support for individuals who may have difficulties registering. If you are interested in hosting in-person training events for your school community, please reach out to [email protected].
